There appears to be light surface rust on other places/pieces under the hood. Likely from multiple power washing prior to detailing the engine bay & not cover that metal w/paint or epoxy primers.

what vehicle ? ? you didnt provide the link or quote it so we know what one your talking about .

if my comment thats not light surface rust on the firewall seam thats some heavy stuff coming threw . see and scrapped a lot up here in the heavy rust belt and seen a lot of firewalls like this go from that pic to gone in 1-2 years max .

Up there (NY) is not down here (TN) on the rust deal. In real time, this TN truck will be the deciding factor on how good it really is.

most of them get full of leafs / pine needles / basic dust and then the seam sealer dry's up and the water then gets down in and makes this happen . it dosn't matter much were it has lived . but my point was i see way more rust up here than you southern people do .

not trying to start any thing . just calling it as i see it and have seen it .

heck i got a box from ga a few years ago . i still had to do rust repair and remove all the paint it was baked so bad from the sun down there .
