Re: Under Dash A/C unit

If you're looking at Vintage Air, get with Scottshotrods, a supporting vendor here on the forum. Here's the link to a thread where you can tell them exactly what you're looking for:

HX, have you looked on EBAY also? I saw some Vintage Air kits on there. That's probably where I will have to buy my parts.
I have seen some components on Ebay, but nothing I am excited about.

I am looking for the under dash complete system, cold only. All of my heating parts are new, and would like to keep my full glove box. Most of the Vintage/Shurfit units require cutting 2/3rds of your glove box away to allow for the unit. The main body of the unit fits under the dash requiring this extra room..

This drawback has me hesitating on going with the Surefit as well, but on the flip side, I sure do love the extra room that it creates in the engine compartment.

No problem, glad to help. Keep us updated on what you do. I'm in the same boat with wanting to keep my Deluxe heater & combine it with a cold-only under dash unit.

Re: Under Dash A/C unit

I know this is an old post but I just picked up a 1964 Suburban with an original factory installed under dash A/C unit. I have attached several pics. I am going to remove it and install a modern vintage air unit.
