Re: Another turbo ls
I am KEENLY interested. I bought the VS Racing billet 7875 kit for the LQ4/4L80E I have for my '61.
I need to live vicariously through you until I can begin my truck. Please post LOTS of pictures.

Re: Another turbo ls
Thanks for the interest, I love the 61! I'd have gone with a 6.0/4l80e but I had the th400 already and I wanted drive by cable mostly I didn't care if it was a 4.8 5.3 or 6.0 for what i'm doing.

Re: Another turbo ls
Today i got in a test fit of the motor and checked to see how the drivers side truck manifold would fit, its close but with the flange chopped off and V band it i think it'll work out.
random truck pic I was concerned as about these cpp frame mounts that were with the truck but the f body pan seemed to fit okay |

Re: Another turbo ls
My 2" blocks and c notch showed up today, so i figured i throw the blocks in to see how the truck will sit before i do the rear end up. I was shocked to find how much higher it is then my orange truck which has 5" drop springs and 1" blocks both trucks have a 6" rear drop total. Now the orange truck has been together for about 12 years so I know its sacked out some in the rear (which i like) just didn't realize it was that much. Now here's some pics
Once i get the motor and trans in I think I'll be good with how it sits. 6" drop done with newer 4" springs 2" blocks Heres my orange truck for comparison of 6" drop with sacked out 5" springs 1" blocks Both trucks are sitting on 15" rims |

Re: Another turbo ls
I got the motor and trans in today and the timing cover drilled and tapped with 1/2" npt for the turbo oil drain along with drilling and tapping the oil cooler block off with 1/4" npt for the oil feed. Now if my log manifold would show up.... anyway here's a couple pics
greasy mess looking for a home I thought the truck pan would be a little low so I sprang for the f body pan but looking at it in the truck I think would have only hung a little bit below the crossmember though being a cast pan I'm glad its tucked up there |
