NP205 frame mount
I just acquired a 72k10. It has the np205, and I was noticing that it does not have the frame mount . Does anyone know if a 67-72 frame mount will work?

Re: NP205 frame mount
yes- the torque mount should work as long as it is from a 72 and older NP205. 73 and newer mounts are different though and NP 203 mounts are different too. In this picture the left is from a '74 NP203, middle is '72 NP205 and right is a '73 and newer NP205 mount.

Re: NP205 frame mount
NP208's are all aluminum and I've never seen one use this type of mount. If it's in a '73 it will either be a 203 or 205. Either way- 72 and older mounts won't work.

1968k20 -
The infamous NP205 torque bracket has been discussed to exhaustion on these boards as well as many other 4x4 forums. Read this thread and pay particular attention to post #25 by Dirty Larry - he speaks the truth. GM quit using the torque bracket beginning with the 1973 models for very good reasons.

Re: NP205 frame mount
FWIW- my 74 K20 came with it factory with the 465/203 combo and lasted 40 years. I put it back in when I restored it and haven't had an issue. Not to say they didn't cause issues but it hasn't on mine.
