Re: A little Blazer porn
That is stock height, stock springs. There was no rub at all with the setup you see and I described. When I restored that rig, it was an original, untouched time capsule with 45K miles on it. Old farm run around rig. It had some rust out of the rockers and door sills and a couple patches on the front floor boards. That was patched with the help of a local body man legend and I then sought to put it back together as it would have come from the factory. Lifted did not fit that description. The original tires and wheels always looked anemic and a tad undersized giving the blazer a somewhat top heavy appearance. That is my personal observation. That and the fact that the rear axle is slightly shorter then the front, it needed something to fill out the wheel wells and not be too obnoxious. That became the best fix I had seen. Honestly I stole ideas from the good posters on this forum and you see the result. I see that Blazer around town rarely. I wonder...did I do the right thing? The family who has it now babies it which is great. It is in better shape than when I sold it. But boy. I think I would like to do that again. I have a beautiful 1965 Impala convertible now, that I drive. Just drive. Can't get to deep into something on it because the disease will return and I will tip over into a madman obsessing over every small detail. And not be able to drive it for a few years. So for now, I drive. And smile.
