Wire routing for overhead accessories?
Need some help on routing wires inside roof. My Custom Deluxe is bare bones and I need to run power in the roof for the running lights, mirror map lights and rear courtesy lamp. Is it possible to run wire down the A-Pillar or across the roof and down the rear pillar? I pulled the visor tonight and could only poke wire a limited distance. I'm thinking the metal is folded 90 degrees at the seams where the panels butt together. How did the factory do it?

The front might be tricky. I couldn't find a passage at the top inside the pillar to fish it down. I'll give it another shot tommorow. |

Re: Wire routing for overhead accessories?
Use a stiffer wire.
Maybe a #12 solid copper wire and bend a close loop in the end.The small loop makes it easier for it to get past obstructions in the pillar. Mike. |

Re: Wire routing for overhead accessories?
Spent a good hour last night trying to get a piece of solid core wire thru the A-Pillar. Ain't happening! Doesn't matter if I go from the bottom up or the top down, it's not going.
However, it's a moot point as I was able to get it fairly easy from the d/s front roof above the door and down the B-Pillar. Either way, I now have power where I need it. |
