What Power Door Lock kit?
Where can I get a good power door lock kit? Anyone have one on there truck with some feedback? I am looking to put this on my truck to put an alarm on it so the doors will lock when the alarm is armed.

Hey Ryan, A-1 electric has a really good setup. Thats the one I went with and I'd buy from them again. I bought the keyless entry too and the whole deal was only 100 bucks. http://www.a1electric.com/mes.htm

Jim, that looks like a nice system, I'm just curious as to how you specifically mounted the actuators in the doors. Also, do you have an alarm? Or just the keyless entry?
Thanks

I have the A-1 kit and an alarm. If you want the security of one button opens one door, and not one button opens both, then do not get the MES wiring kit, get the other one. Mine are mounted behind the door panel straight up and down. I removed the door lock pulls, cut them to about two inches long from where the fasten to the lock mechanism and put the passenger side one on the drivers side and vice versa so that they would point down and still mount the same way they did stock. They work flawlessly every time. A-1 stuff is good Sh1t.

No, sorry. it's pretty self explanatory once you get the door panels off and look at the lock rod.

Ryan this is a pic for ranger pickup from A-1 electric site. Mine mounted the same way, right behind the opening in a vertical position. Just drill two holes and bolt it to the door. John

Some of the best door lock actuators I have ever found are made by Hitachi and can be purchased aftermarket or found as factory installed equipment in old Hyundai's. They are rotary not linear and have OEM quality and reliability. I have had them in my truck for 10 years.

I have the keyless entry system that LMC offers. I don't have the alarm just the locks. Its a really easy set up and I like it a lot. It took me an afternoons time to do it, and of course I forgot to take pictures.
