Right size tire for a 1976 C20
My 76 C20, 6400 GVWR, came with 7.50 16 @ 31.5 diameter tire, is a 235 85 16 about right for this truck? It now has really old 245 75 16 tires and the speedometer is about 3-4 mph off. Thanks!

Re: Right size tire for a 1976 C20
I like 235/85r16's on stock 3/4 ton trucks. They are the closest to the original 7.50-16. That's what I have on my K20. If I didn't have to drive in snow I would probably consider something wider; 255/85r16 maybe.

Re: Right size tire for a 1976 C20
I have 235/85R16s on my 70 C20. 31.7" diameter.
The wider option is 265/75R16. Needs a 7" wide rim. The rims on my truck are 6". My 83 had 7" wide rims, not sure if they were factory or not. https://tiresize.com/comparison/

Thanks for the replies, looks like 235 will be right, I'll post pictures when I get them mounted.

Before 245 x 75 16 white letter, now Cooper At3 blackwall 235 85 16, they fit great! Also, replaced the original shocks with monroe gas magnums, great shocks, been using them for 30 plus years.
