Are These 69-70 or 71-72 Bucket Seats
I purchased these seats years ago and am just now getting around to repairing and installing them. They are out of a Blazer and I want to say they are 71-72 era but I could use some help in identifying them. Also, it looks like the passenger side seat foam is ok but the driver side (shown) is pretty beat in the usual spot on the lower bun. I trimmed back the original seat cover to have a better look. Would you guys recommend trying to repair the foam or not?

Do they fold forward? or are they stationary?

I've already removed the Blazer specific flip forward floor mount bracket on the passenger side seat. The seat backs themselves are stationary.

Re: Are These 69-70 or 71-72 Bucket Seats
They look like Blazer buckets to me (sport not utility obviously). As to year, I have no idea, but pattern resembles the 71-72 pattern as the 69-70 pattern has a wider bar down the center. In my opinion, if you are going to spend the money to recover them, you should replace the foam. It is almost 50 years old and I'm sure it is breaking down. There are two different foam sets listed for either 69-70 or 71-72 so I would assume if you match the seat cover pattern to the foam for that set of years you would be good to go. Good luck. Show us pictures of the seats when you get them done.

Re: Are These 69-70 or 71-72 Bucket Seats
Those are 71/72 base bucket seats. These are what came in a non-CST K/5 and Custom (base) trucks with the bucket seat option. That is the original pattern. The standard seat in K/5s was utility seats. Neither the utilities or buckets seats came with console, so these probably had seat belt buckle holders mounted on the inner side.

Re: Are These 69-70 or 71-72 Bucket Seats
Nice seats to restore and, having bought them years ago were a bargain Im sure. As the others have already stated they are truck seats. I was going to say 69-70 because of the covers style. Im interested in the foam if you go with new dont chuck it in the trash please.

Re: Are These 69-70 or 71-72 Bucket Seats
They are exactly like my 72 K5 seats except for the color . Mine are blue. I want to recover mine but haven't found a supplier for the insert material, yet. I thought I might try SMS.

Those bare 71-72 Blazer buckets needing foam and covers. You want to see freshly covered buckets that should've had new foam, look on the parts board.

Re: Are These 69-70 or 71-72 Bucket Seats
I bought a pair of buckets from the parts board and I thought the foam was shot until I checked them out and found out that the springs were actually shot and some were broken. I bought new springs from Amazon for $50 and replaced them and the seats sit pretty good so I repaired the foam with some that I had from an old bench seat and some Super 77 spray adhesive and now they are pretty firm. You don’t necessarily need new foam, and they are not cheap. Mine did not come with brackets so I converted two sets of bench slider brackets and after I buy new covers for the seats I will have around $750 in them. If you look on the board you will see that recovered bucket seats with the correct truck brackets are going for $1500-2000. Repair as opposed to replace is almost always a better option, considering the core item is in decent shape. I have seen bucket seats that I would consider cores, sell for $800.

Re: Are These 69-70 or 71-72 Bucket Seats
Thanks for all the responses. I'm still kicking around the repair or replace on the foam. Does anyone have any experience with new bucket seat foam? I know there's one set that is made in the US. Also, while moving the seats around my shop I noticed an extremely faint 1971 date code on the back of one of the seats if you catch the light just right.
