Column question

So I have watched this site for years and always get great information from all of you. So I have a 70 c10 it has a straight 6, 3 on the tree. I am putting a 283 with 700r4 in and have a chance to get a 93 s10 tilt steering column, has anyone used one or know if it will work? Thanks for all the help!

Re: Column question

I'm no expert on 93 S-10s, but I would assume that the column would not fit without some drastic modifications.

Our trucks were the last of those with the column held to the underside of the dash with a simple strap of steel. Newer trucks have a more substantial bracket and would not bolt up in your truck. Beyond that, the wiring harnesses are different and I would think the length of the column would be, too.

I would steer clear (sorry for the pun).

Re: Column question

Newer columns have side rods, high beam switch etc..they interfere with mounting also.
