Another one bites the dust.
I traveled over to my favorite coffee drinking, advise getting, honey hole, AKA J-W,s salvage for a part for shuttermutts 68. Imagine my suprise to find evrything older than mid 90,s crushed. So much for the rust free air cab or the 69 short frame or countless other parts I would have loved to save. He said with metal prices up 3 times more than last year he just couldn't resist. Help me mourn the crushing of one more parts bonanza.

I feel your pain. I went by the junkyard 4 miles south of me the other day when my wife was with me . When we popped over the hill and I saw everything was gone I totally lost it. My wife couldn't understand why I was so upset. It was like a part of me had gone with those old rusty relics. She just said "oh they got rid of all that junk". In the old days where you had to wait for the customer to come to you to sell a part I could understand it. With ebay and the internet available now, I would think that those old school junkyards with the pre 80's vehicles could make out big time .

My friend is crushing cars at his yard right now. Has done over 200 so far. Crusher prices were at 32.00 a ton for years, and he just kept stacking stuff. They came to him and offerred 72.00 a ton and he said "hell yah". I posted on the local circle track web site that he had some 73-81 Camaros (that's what they run in factory stock), and no one called him. They are all gone now. I got him to keep the 67-72 truck and suburban stuff. He'll be much better organized now.
