Re: Preservation not restoration Martino build
Some updates on the progress the boxes are completely free of any rusty metal now. All that's left is to body work and paint them up, the bedsides are coming off next to get the metal replaced that's rotten

Re: Preservation not restoration Martino build
Messing around with the truck yesterday lowered the front about 3 to 3.5 inches. Looks better but need to do the rear also. Needs about 3 inch drop in the rear to sit right.

I think its pretty cool you are putting this back to original-ish. Never seen anyone restore a box like that, good on you!

Re: Preservation not restoration Martino build
Thank you. Everything will be original still I didn't change any parts to lower the truck. I took it to a suspension buddy and he cut one coil and re indexed the new bottom coil to sit in the perch correctly and he is going to de arch my rear leafs one inch and add a 2 inch drop shackles only the shackles will be new. Everything is coming off getting repairs and going back on. Just like them a little lower than stock.

Re: Preservation not restoration Martino build
If you take and type what you are searching for at the top of the page in the search box and click the box that says 67-72chevytrucks.com and then hit the google search button it brings up a ton of threads that will probably help you out. And if that doesn't work just start a new thread in the 67-72 truck area (not the builds part where you are now) and ask the question. I have been on this board a long time, but I have nowhere near the wealth of info the deep build guys have.
Here is the page that comes up when I do a search using 67 c30 ball joints and tie rod joints/ends https://www.google.com/search?domain...D%3A1%3B&hl=en When you use the 67-72chevytrucks.com part of the search you only get stuff from the board |
