Whats the Rule of Thumb
What is the rule of thumb regarding lifts/tire sizes on a 67-72 truck. The reason that I am asking is that I want to run a 4 in lift w/ 35x12.5x15 tires, but I dont know how much I am going to rub. I also dont know what backspace I should use. Should I be going w/ a 6 inch lift instead? What do You guys think?

If you aren't going to do much wheeling, you should be fine with a 4" lift and 35's. They might rub a little in a tight turn, mine never did when I had a 4" lift. I don't recall my exact back spacing but I think it was 4.5 on an 8" rim.

I'll second that. If I really crossed it up I could get a little rub, but for light wheeling the 35's were never a problem rubbing. I had 3:73 gears so the worst part was getting them turning from a stop.

35`s with a 4" lift will fit a lot better with 8" wheels than 10" wheels. It also depends on what brand tire you run. Some 35`s are bigger than others.....I was gonna put 35" pj`s on my 71 with a 4" lift and 10" wheels, but they would hit real bad so I went with the 33`s which actually measure 34.5".....John
