Thank you both for the suggestions. It helped remind me that I have a bottle of permatex Radiator Cleaner I got for discount a while back. It's basically hydrochloric acid. I think something like 12% by content. I think if I did a really mild dilution it should do the trick. It worked great on my heater core.
