67-72 Wood Beds

Can someone tell me what years wood was available for the bed floor in 67-72 chev/gmc trucks? Was it an option or was the steel floor the option? Or did steel become the standard at a certain point and wood was no longer available? Thanks, Ron

Re: 67-72 Wood Beds

I'm not sure, but it seems like most short boxes have wood beds. I don't believe I have ever seen a SPID sheet that indicates wether a truck has a wood or metal, either way, but I'm sure there must be some out there. I ordered a new SB 4 wheeler back in 76 and I could have had either one. I think wood floors were available until the early 80's. Maybe someone will come on with a little more information and maybe even show us a SPID sheet with some information.

Re: 67-72 Wood Beds

There are numerous threads on wood beds in the pickup section (You have wandered into the lonely Suburban and Panel section). I believe that wood was standard in the 67-72 years and metal was the option and metal bed would have been listed on the SPID. But I could have that all wrong. Use the search box above and click the 67-72 button and you will find the experts have already answered your question.

Re: 67-72 Wood Beds

while we're here in the burb house, they did have plywood cargo area floors

and Longhorn pickups had wood bed floors..
