power steering swap
I have a 67 with the ram style power steering and was wondering what all do I need to bolt on a steering box off of a 71? Should I get all of the steering componets from off of the truck that I can? It is missing the pump and hoses that run to the box but everything else is there. Also will the tierod ends fit on my truck or do I not need them?
Thanks Devin

Okay, here it is as best I can recall. You will need a p/s pump, hoses, and gear box. Also need center link, steering arm and idler arm from the later model. Will need tie rod ends for the later model for the center link, as well as an adapter to mate it to the 67 tie rod ends at the wheels. You will need to dimple your frame for the steering gear as well. You may consider a later model box, as they have a quicker ratio, you can get one from up to mid eighties I think. If you are going to go through all this trouble you may as well get a complete front end from the 72 and get disk brakes too.

how do you dimple the frame? and how much? Couldn't you just shim the sector out from the frame?
