Anyone cut their bumpstops on the UCA/LCA?
I'm THINKING that when I go over a rough road, I hit my bumpstops on the front, and that's why my ride has been suffering lately. My bumpstops are HUGE! (New ones came with my PST kit.) Should I cut them down, or what?

I hacked mine off on my old 85 shortbox. Had 3" Spindles & 3" Springs, the bumpstops also act as a steering stop if I remember correctly. I cut mine completely out and didn't mind. But if you have front spindles you should still have the stock amount of space for the bumpstop and if you have good shocks you shouldn't be hitting I wouldn't think. What shocks are you running? DJM? Aren't they made by explorer procomp, aka toxic shocks? Which is known has the harshest riding shock around.

I would play with it and trim it down a little at a time to where you like it... but I cut the whole bumpstop and mount off of my LCA's. BUT, my tubular ones have them on it, just not as tall.
I wouldn't bother with the uppers, with dropped springs, you probalby won't be "Dukes Of Hazzard'ing" to get the droop that much.

I trimmed the original bumpstops on my 74 but was having an issue w/the tires constantly buzzing the tops of the fenderwells. After a while it was getting old, so I got new ones from GM. I haven't trimmed these yet but I might split the difference & see how it works.
Weird thing is I didn't trim the ones on my 68 which sits @ least an inch lower, but it only rubs on 'big' dips @ higher speeds (I used the same methods to lower each & overall tire diameter is similar 215/75/15's vs. 255/45/18's).
