Hi all,

Is it possible to mount a Cadillac engine in our trucks? And if it's possible is it easy or is it a tough job to do. What do I have to buy to make it fit?
I'm asking this cause I can buy a 472 Caddy engine for a nice price and I'm thinking of buying it for my truck.
I think it may cause some problems with the motor mounts and the tranny but what more can you think of. Does anyone have any experience in this?
Please help?

You can easily fit the 472 in the truck but you will need to fabricate motor mounts for the truck. You will also need to make sure you get the transmission to go with the motor. To the best of my knowledge the bell housing pattern on the cadillac motor is not the same as that of a chevrolet motor. Also make sure you get the pulleys and accessories you need.

I am planning to put the same motor in my '55 2nd series pickup.

I've got a tranny with an Oldsmobile bolt pattern in it now, is that the same bolt pattern as a Caddy engine?

If you have a chevy transmission this will help you keep the cost down not having to get a BOP trans

the Olds has the same bellhousing pattern as the Cadillac Engine. That sounds like a very good swap.

If you want an overdrive the 2004R will bolt right up to the caddy also.....

the caddy 472/500 is a torque load of fun and will bolt right to your olds tranny. A COMPLETE engine with accessories is the only way to go though. DAVE

i have nothing constructive to add accept that i had a 71 coupe deville with a 472 (69K orig miles) and even in that heavy azz car it got up and boogied. i always saw it as a monte carlo on steroids.
