929 carburetor question
So I have already asked this question in my build thread but did not get any answers so I figured the main board would be a better place.
Truck is a 1965 c10 to c20 conversion with the 292 inline 6. Engine is not original but I believe it is period correct. Right now I am using the carburetor in the picture below. I know that it is not the original carb for this engine. (Original being the rockchester B) So my question is has anybody else used this carb on these engines & or is it a good or bad idea? The truck seems to run ok with it but its a little hard starting.(carb could just need to be rebuilt) Some help would be appreciated.

Re: 929 carburetor question
That's a later model carb for those engines. Bought one to install on a buddies 292 in an 84 chev and it worked fine. Just a reman from Auto zone.

Re: 929 carburetor question
Thanks TJ!
I will probably just rebuild one of the 2 carbs I have for now. Does anybody know witch vacuum line on the carb is the one to use for the vacuum advance? The vacuum advance was not connected when we got the truck. (I would like to reconnect it) Thanks again!

Re: 929 carburetor question
I believe it's the one with the hose that's got the curve on it. You can always hook it up and rev the engine...if the advance arm moves back and forth when you rev the engine you know it's the right one long as the vacuum pump in the dizzy is good.

Re: 929 carburetor question
Well I got it hooked up & it seems to work fine.
I have not driven the truck yet but it should have WAY more power.
