Re: 508 dark blue
Another photo posted on the forum. Not my truck, however, mine is the same color and with the same paint option.
Truck in post #3 has sun shades on door windows, extra nice. Les Last edited by aotte1; 01-08-2019 at 02:35 PM. |

Re: 508 dark blue
Thanks for thinking of my truck, oem4me. This is factory 508 (actually 538 since it's a two-tone) dark blue paint. Not tooting my own horn but in my years of following these trucks I have yet to see another dark blue truck with nice original paint-- too nice to repaint, that is. Has anyone else ever seen one? I would love to see photos. Seems like the dark colors maybe didn't survive very well. This truck has faded a shade, though. I could tell when I removed the side trim to polish it. It was a shade darker underneath where it had never seen the sun.

Re: 508 dark blue
That's the color of my '62 K10 long/step.
It's the exact color and exact body style/bed I wanted for a K10. I'm pretty much restoring it around the A-pillar and the frame rails, but it'll be the original color for sure. Is the paint code found on any of the tags on the trucks, like it was on the passenger cars of the era?
