Wilwood d52 and d154 manual brakes with what size bore master cylinder
So I have been working on my 1969 c10. I have wilwood D52 and D154 both dual picton disc brakes. Then in have a wilwood 1" bore master cylinder and wilwood adjustable prop valve with stock brake pedal and a 6:1 brake ratio all running the manual disc brakes. My question is do I stay with the 1" bore master or trade out for a .875 wilwood tandom master cylinder for better brake stopping due to higher pressure?
Thanks for your time. |

Not meaning to sound like a smart alec but why not contact Wilwood and get their advice on what to use for the MC? They should be a wealth of info.

Re: Wilwood d52 and d154 manual brakes with what size bore master cylinder
RodnRudy, lol no problem. I already have sent an email into them today a.d was going to call later tomorrow if I do not get a reply by afternoon. Just thought I would see what others o here may say or experienced is all. I have an LS with a good size cam and with a booster and 12 to 13" of vacuum I was getting horrible brakes. So at that time wilwood suggested going to manual, so now I have, just checking in on what size master to run.

Have you considered Hydroboost?

The 7/8" MC will give you better pressure and should help those small calipers clamp a bit better.
I'm running 13" 6 pistons up front, and the small piston D52s in the rear with a 15/16" MC.
