Original paint or not?
Seller claims paint and interior are original. See any tell tale signs of a repaint?

Re: Original paint or not?
Appears some repaint, I noticed there are no drip rails over any of the doors, were these a option, don't think so, so if these were removed, then some body did a fantastic job of hiding the holes without paint.

Re: Original paint or not?
Tailgate area gives the impression of being "original", but rest looks way to clean. Some of the stuff mntioned above makes me think below the wood grain has been touched/redone.

Re: Original paint or not?
Also noticed some wrong trim screws, especially below right tail light, also love th sort off undercoat spray with mud still under the body. Not knocking the truck, but please don't describe a vehicle as a Original paint when there definitely has been some work done to it, just my 4 cents

Re: Original paint or not?
IIRC, '73 was not sold with drip rails. Some may have been added later. They were optional for '74 and a few years after, and then became standard for the rest of the series run.

Re: Original paint or not?
Won’t matter if the paint is original or not if that spliced in non original fuel filter springs a leak!

Re: Original paint or not?
To some people "original" means "painted in the factory paint scheme" rather that "this is the paint applied at the factory".
Just like to some people "survivor" means "this vehicle still exists". K

Re: Original paint or not?
I looked through all the pictures the other day and determined it was a repaint with new wood veneer and a bunch of gussied up trim. There's lots of clues that the truck was used as intended at points over the years and a lot of time spent outdoors too. We all know that paint is the first thing to get damaged and the original woodgrain had a habit of badly fading.
With that said, it's a very nice Burb. I wish I was the one that was able to purchase it.

But again, I hate to talk it down because it's such a nice truck. It's what I would call an honest, genuine truck. This is just a situation where the seller's pitch ruins it for me.

Re: Original paint or not?
That's the thing, if the paint is in fact fresh, then it's hard to say what might be hidden under it. But it's still far nicer than anything that can be found in Ohio. Clean, original 70's Burbs are just plain gone and have been for a long time now.
