Help with bumper swap
I’m removing step bumper on ‘69 suburban and want to install stock bumper. After pulling bumper I realized there’s a filler panel that was removed for lip on step bumper that went up to bottom of rear doors. I’ve check with LMC, Brothers etc and cant find correct panel. Anyone out there have one or know if anyone makes replacement?

Re: Help with bumper swap
does your look like the one I have posted here? if not more than likely it was cut to fit the bumper. No one reproduces the lower sill and it is all one pc up to the plywood. It bolts in at the rear bottom of the quarter panels. Do you have barn doors or hatch tailgate? Keep in mind they are slightly different but can be made to swap.

Re: Help with bumper swap
Thanks for info. I have barn doors and I just bought a piece of 16ga metal that I'll just paint white and install. With it being behind bumper I don't think anyone will notice.

Re: Help with bumper swap
Any chance you have a pic of the step bumper on before you removed it?

Yes I do, but haven’t figured out how to post them yet. Shoot me an email and I’ll send them (bob.kennedy@hotcold.com). Bob

Re: Help with bumper swap
My 70 had these steps that were bolted to the factory bumper. Not sure if it is factory or not. Never saw it before.

Re: Help with bumper swap
The angle on those "steps" are a bunch weird. Not what I'd call a step bumper. The one I removed was called a Barden I believe. Really happy with look of new stock bumper. Only problem I had was PO had welded a plate between frame rails for bigger gas tank straps right where bumper brackets were suppose to go. Had to cut them down drastically and drill new holes.
