Wheel question...

Does anyone know if an 8-lug rim from a '92 F-250 4x4 will fit on my '72 C20? If so, I can dispose of my split rims and have a safe temporary set of rims.

Thanks...

Once split rims have the locking ring seated and the tire aired up, they are perfectly safe... it's just that it's dangerous to do a tire change on them without the proper equipment (not all tire places have the equipment, which is why they won't touch them).

At some point during the 90s, Ford went metric, I don't think that was until later though, so '92 rims would fit. Chevy has the smallest bearing size of any of the makes, so any of the other rims will fit on, the center hole will just be a little bit bigger than the original rims you have now. Before the change by ford (and maybe others?) to metric, the 8 lug was a standard pattern. The question on the SAE 8 lug (this is the small 8 lug, don't think any others were ever used commonly though) is center hole size to fit over the full floater hub or 4x4 hub usually instead of lug pattern.

Basically, this is a long way of saying that they should fit if they use the standard non metric fasteners and lug pattern.
