Hickey Sidewinder Winch Mount Woes - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hey guys - someone on here has probably faced this issue already or can help. I bought a beautifully preserved low-use Hickey Sidewinder Winch recently from a guy in California, and as with the case on every one I've seen listed for sale, this one too is missing the all-important frame mount for a 69-72 K model truck or Blazer.

I bought it anyway, thinking I could somehow overcome the problem by digging up an original K truck mount, but dang....starting to think I was wrong. So now I have a giant useless paperweight until one of you saves the day and presents a solution - Thoughts? appreciate your help. You can text me at 256 486 1988 too if that's easier to send pics of what you have etc

Do you have pictures of what you are looking for. Not everyone would know what that bracket looks like but maybe would recognize it with a pic. I have the "other" 67-72 optional Hickey winch.

Well, I don't have a pic to post because I so far can't find anyone who has one mounted to get me a picture of it

Like HO455 posted, you will probably have to fab one. Who knows how long it will take a complete mount set, not attached to a winch, to pop up for sale. Shouldn't be too hard to fab. I've never owned a sidewinder but seems like a few guys on this forum have one. I have a hickey, but it's not a sidewinder. Sorry I was no help, just wanted to give a fab it up yourself vote!

I would buy a whole winch to get the Blazer brackets - had no idea I was gonna be searching for the impossible to find or to make

I just bought complete set up with mounts. It will take me til Saturday to take pics. Just removed from 72 blazer
