What is this door part

What is this hook for? When I took the door panel off it was not attached to anything. It looks like it should hook over the door handle stud but it is too long. This is on the driver’s door, there is not one on the passenger 1967 door. The door that the hook is in is not a 1967 door.

ROTFLMAF good one. The other end is wrapped around part of the door latch mechanics, looks production. I couldn't get a decent pict inside the door. The door handle seems messed up, sometimes it won't latch when I close the door unless I cycle the inside handle a few times.

Okay I got a shot inside the door and a fuzzy one looking through the handle opening. Any ideas?

The door latch spring. That's what keeps the latch latched. You can see it here.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

That might explain why sometimes the door won't latch unless I mess with the inside handle a few times. So it is sitting upside down now!!!!
Thanks I will see if I can flip it over tomorrow.

Re: What is this door part

Thanks that is exactly the picture I needed, gave up trying to find it. Hopefully I will be able to get that attached without taking everything out of the door. I will probably come out bleeding! Looks like I might be able to push it into place through the handle hole, that would be nice. I hate work inside doors.

Re: What is this door part

I got the spring hook thing into its proper home. I did have to unbolt the whole mechanism to get a good hold of it to pull it into place. Thank for your help guys, I never would have figured out where it was supposed to go. No blood was lost!!
