The winch is positioned as far back towards the motor as possible. There is a cross member on the truck frame that keeps it from going any further. Yes I had to trim the bumper but you would have to do that anyways with the Hickey mount. I will take more pictures of the mounts I made to give you a better idea.

I can't really make another and send it to you because its the kind of thing that needs to be fit to your truck. Also, the metal I used is not the kind that you can pick up at your local Home Depot. I found the big angle iron and high carbon diamond plate at a local machine shop. Both were recycled scrap. I doubt I could easily find the same stuff.

I just wanted to give you an idea of how to make do without the Hickey mounts so you could do it yourself in a similar manner.
