A Arm Conversion

Evening All

1972 c10
thinking about rebuilding my complete front suspension

ive got all new front disc brake parts for the 1972
probably take off a arms and rebuild as well as the complete front end parts, moog more than likely

are the 1973 thru 1987 a arms and suspension any better
do i need to use the 1973-1987 spindles and brakes or can i stay with my 1972 equipment
is it worth changing over or leave as is

if i do change over and need alignment do i go 1972 or 1973 thru 1987

Thanks

Re: A Arm Conversion

Not sure I can answer your question. I've got a 67 that I put an 83 front suspension on - crossmember and all. It's not on the road yet but I plan to align it to the 83 specs. I would think, since all parts 72(?) and up - rubber bushings - are basically interchangeable, that the alignment specs would be the same. But again, really don't know.

What I really wanted to say is congrats on the cancer!! Good for you. Hang in there and whoop it's ass!!!

Re: A Arm Conversion

I read your thread the day it came out and was puzzled as to why you would want to change the A arms. Is there a benefit that you have heard about?

Re: A Arm Conversion

Thank You HooperCa

I’m probably going to stay with the 72 components after all.

Had a chance awhile back to get a whole front end from an 1984. But it’s gone now

Might go with the cpp a arms and moog susp parts might have to get new springs

Thanks for the replies
