Bucket seat belts

I’m swapping over to factory bucket seats in my 1980 C10, and was wondering what everyone was using for seat belts? I’d really like to stay with stock style belts but haven’t been able to find nice ones or bucket seat centers. Advice or recommendations for factory style belts?

Thanks
Trey

Re: Bucket seat belts

im still working on my truck. But bought seat belts from LMC as well as there plastic bucket seat belt sleeve. I plan on pulling all the slack to where it bolts to the floor and have upholstery guy stitch it up for the bolt to go through and have no slack

I used Wesco when I switched over to buckets. Good quality stuff.

That is look a way better option. Going to check those out if I have issues with what I already purchased.

I didn’t like the way LMC belts didn’t have the retractor in a case. The wescoperformance are way better looking. Although, I got mine from http://www.seatbeltstore.com/product-p/ju7387ct.htm
I shopped around, because I wanted the belt and plastic to color match. Some colored belts only come with a black retractor case.

Try "Seat Belts Plus" They're my Go-To source for a quality belt.

Re: Bucket seat belts

Thanks for the reply’s! I really wanted a factory style seat belt. As popular as these trucks are, you would think someone would reproduce them. I have found a place that will reweb my original seat belts. It’s close to me, so I will be making a trip there in the next day or two and see what they can do

Thanks

You must be talking about Snake-Oyl. It’s expensive, but if you want factory style belts, that’s the way to go.

Mine is for a bench seat, so they don’t have the sleeve. When you order them, you have the choice, of bench or buckets. Same belts, just minus the sleeves.

That’s the place. Looking like they can reweb them for around $300 a pair. I’ll know more when I get over there to drop them off

I have always heard that their estimates were in the range of $1000-$1500.

I looked into those but didn't like the mounting vs. the belt slider arrangement as pictured. It appears the 2nd mounting point that's not part of the retractor housing has to go somewhere besides where the retractor mounts. The male buckle that floats on the belt webbing is on that 'side' of the mounting choices (it's 'after' the pivot point).

To me, so it mounts like OE, the secondary anchor should mount under the retractor housing for a cleaner OE appearance. The means the male buckle that floats needs to be on the other side of the pivot point that mounts to the cab pillar. Easy enough to 'fix' but seems weird it's set-up that way to begin with.

Does this make sense?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: Bucket seat belts

Center buckles from an 80's S-10 Blazer are a good fit. There were oodles of those bucket seats and it's not hard to find nice ones.

Yes, that's how I mounted mine. I do remember flipping one side male buckle because they don't make a left and right side. I couldn't find anyone that made the factory double roller style belts with the plastic covered buckles, and my roller covers were trashed. I don't mind the black roller covers so much, blends with the seat hinge covers. Here's what mine look like...

Re: Bucket seat belts

To me.... The circled area would appear cleaner if it was rotated 90° to the left (tucked behind the housing & webbing the exits the housing). That would have a more OE appearance visually vs aftermarket.

Good looking set-up in the pic though.

The adjustment knob on the seat hinge hangs over the belt housing, so the front belt portion wouldn't stow correctly. This actually looks better than a twisted belt if done the other way, I tried it.

What is it attaching to the way you installed it? Pic doesn't clearly show where it's physically anchored.

I will get a better pic, I really can’t remember how I did the anchor. The one pic was taken awhile back, for the speakers.

Re: Bucket seat belts

TCKR's looks like mine. There is an 'L' shaped bracket that bolts to the floor and has a hole in the upright. The retractor part goes to front of the upright, the bracket on end of strap goes to rear and a bolt goes through all three with washer and nut.
