65 C10 bagged and turbo 5.3 Ls - Build
Finally joined here and figured I'd put the current build up.
1965 C10 long bed w/ PB stage 3 front drop member, 3" drop spindles, Michigan Metalwork's flat control arms, Dominator 2600 bags, Shaved dash, firewall, and pinch welds, 22" transports, CPP drilled/slotted Currently working on: We were going the wishbone 3-link route for the rear. Decided to change it up and go triangulated 4-link. Ordering parts to build the cast 5.3 LS motor and 4l80e up to handle a good amount of boost. Planning to run a big single s480+-

Re: 65 C10 bagged and turbo 5.3 Ls - Build
Same here, for a short time I had owned a matching 66 c10. Driveway looked good.
The intake is an ICT Billet intake, picked up due to being cheaper then the Holley sniper.

How do you like the Michigan metalwork arms? I asked about them while back as a cheap option and only heard bad reviews about the company. Project looks great

I like them, was kind of skeptic on strength at first but these things are built thick man.

Re: 65 C10 bagged and turbo 5.3 Ls - Build
Maybe yall can help me out.
The Frame will be coated Por-15 black but having a hard time deciding on which color to go with for powder coating. Going to do the front cross member, A-arms, Shock mounts, Motor mounts, Trans cross member, Rear 4-link bars. Open to suggestions

silvers or grays go with the engine color pretty well

Re: 65 C10 bagged and turbo 5.3 Ls - Build
I agree with "bentbolt" grays and silvers will go well with the motor colour and then give you some contrast from he black frame. personally i would do a dark gray like a graphite or charcoal gray.

Re: 65 C10 bagged and turbo 5.3 Ls - Build
Thanks yall, I was thinking the same thing. Going with a charcoal or graphite with a little metallic to give it a slight pop from the frame but not to much.

Re: 65 C10 bagged and turbo 5.3 Ls - Build
Finished painting the frame last week. Also picked the stuff up from powdercoat over the weekend. Decided to change it up last second, and went with a bronze. Camera doesn't do this color justice

Re: 65 C10 bagged and turbo 5.3 Ls - Build
Looks good. I think the hardest part of my build is deciding color and what part gets what color. I've got a big bag of titanium bronze powder that I once had decided on and now I've changed my mind. So frustrating LOL

Re: 65 C10 bagged and turbo 5.3 Ls - Build
disappointed to say that we havent made much lead way on the truck. Parts are sitting on the shelves. Work and life have gotten in the way
On a good note tho we're in the process of moving shop.
