tubbing a stepside?
i was just wondering if anyone has tubbed a stepside on here, if so, was it a hassle?

I would like to know about that myself. My current wheel/tire setup will rub the inside of the bed when I take a hard turn. Minitub would be a huge help.

I knew a couple of guys that tubbed stepsides by using fleetside wheel tubs bolted to the inside of the bed.

Those do work nicely, you can also cut the bottom from a 50 gallon drum and slit it in half. Cool thing about a 50 gallon drum is that you can make your wheel tubs as wide as you need them.

I did it years ago on a 50 studebaker truck. I was the first time I ever used a plasma cutter. It did a beautiful job of cutting the radius. I used the steel tubs from Jeg's for the wheel wells. The inside of step-side beds are easier than many vehicles because the bed sides are straight.

I saw one at a car show one time where the guy used a right side rear step fender as a left side tub and a left fender as a right side tub. I thought it looked wild as s#*t...
