I had problems with my headlights going out on me going down the highway. Talk about a trip.............. never did figure out what was causing it. That was a few years ago and hasn't done it for along time.

Check all your connections. Disconnect the head light and turn the switch on and see if the fuse pops. Either your light switch is fubar or you got faulty wiring. If it doesn't pop then you know the source is at the lights themselfs. make sure all your grounds strap are good. take your time. The wiring in these trucks is cake.

Check your connector block at the fire wall if this is original the conecters in the plug get dirty or corroatedcleen them up with contact cleaner and put some electrical greese on all the conectors and the plug to keep out moisture Good Luck EMMETT

I agree, check your connectors, and all your grounds. Then go from there.
Good luck.

Recently bought my truck and made it from Springfield, MO to Tempe, AZ w/out a problem day later the electrical system started doing all sorts of strange things. Turns out most of the wires had be cut and twisted together about every foot and a half or so (great repair work done by previous owner). Very weak current from the alt. I Ripped most of the wiring out. Put new wire in with much better connections, haven't had a problem since.
Hard to tell what it was at first, then took of what seamed like pounds of electrical tape. 'Surprise surprise surprise'.

I got a dollar in my pocket that says it is the dimmer switch or the dimmer switch connection.

^,me too, most headlight problems stem from the dimmer switch.

IT IS THE SWITCH!!! Mine does it every time i put on the lights. Head lights come on but no parking, tail and sometimes dash lights. I just twist the knob left to right while looking in my mirror at the marker light. It always comes on.
