Many LS swaps require a pan change because of the pan type (truck motors being the most common culprit). These require a retrofit pan/pick-up that's shallower vs. the truck pan. SBC's w/a standard 4qt pan don't really hang lower vs. aftermarket deeper pans.
I would consult the manufacturer of your front suspension & see what they have to say.
