Re: My new project the White Whale.
Not driving it yet. We just got the last brake part that we had been waiting on for two weeks to come in. I think it just needs an alignment when I can go pick it up. Hopefully by this weekend I'll be driving it.

Re: My new project the White Whale.
Well I got the truck back on Wednesday, 4th of July. Drove it about and hour home with ZERO problems. Took it to work the next day to try and get a sticker on my lunch break. After they told me I couldn't get a sticker due to a few lights not working I headed home and had to go through a construction site. I guess I must have bottomed the truck out in the front. Got home to the truck leaking oil heavily. Checked it out last night and found the oil pan has a hole in it. WTF. It will go back to the mechanic next week to have a new oil pan put on it and we are going to raise up the front end an inch. My mechanic thinks he has a low profile oil pan at work that should work and give me more clearance.
One step forward, two steps back. In the meantime while the truck is home I'm going to try and tackle getting the blinkers to all work and get all seats mounted. Then I can start on the stereo install. Last edited by nastety92; 07-09-2018 at 12:12 PM. |

Re: My new project the White Whale.
Truck pan hangs really low. Get the GM muscle car pan it comes with pickup, dip stick pan and gasket for $200. Glad to hear it's on the road

Re: My new project the White Whale.
Well I've still been plugging away on the truck while I still have it. It is supposed to go back to the mechanic this weekend for a new oil pan.
I mounted the front seats, got the rear blinkers working, installed the new lock cylinders (thanks Loc Doc), started laying out the wiring for the stereo and I figured out where the amps will be mounted. It's definitely coming along. Can't wait to get it back from the mechanic so I can put some more miles on it. |
