What happened with my parking lights while testing my temperature sensor

Okay check this out I took off my gauge cluster or whatever you call it so I can test for continuity to see if the temperature sensor was working and there's something wrong with it so I have to fix that when I put it back together I noticed when I turn the key on the parking lights go on and the only turn off when I turn the key off is it a short or get some wires get jostled around or something but I'll tell you what my headlights used to dim until I accelerated and they are not dimming anymore ain't that a hoot anybody have any ideas? I'm going to open it up again tomorrow just to see if I shorted wire something and I thought that was kind of interesting that the demon went away
