Quadrajet rebuild questions
Hey guys I have my Quadrajet disassembled cleaned, new parts bought and ready to re-assemble. I have a few questions though:
1. Do I just lay the needle there with no hanger I have heard it is better without the hanger? 2. The Power Valve set screw has been altered, how to properly calibrate it? Last edited by SilveradoDude; 02-17-2019 at 09:12 PM. |

Re: Quadrajet rebuild questions
You need the hanger clip and it needs to be hooked to the float correctly.
Info in here. http://www.crankshaftcoalition.com/w...4MV_carburetor |

The guru has spoken!
However when it floods and washes the oil off your cylinder walls and you scuff a piston or two, I bet he won’t step up and offer to rebuild your motor! |

Re: Quadrajet rebuild questions
I'm not sure if by power valve set screw, you are talking about the adjustable part throttle adjustment. If that's what you are talking about, take the aluminum access plug out, and thread the hole for a removable plug, and you can really dial in your quadrajet. You can see in this pic, where the access plug was, I theaded the hole and cut a little chunk off of a bolt, and cut a little screw driver slot in the end. It's an easy adjustment to make on the fly, and can have a very positive effect on drive ability, and economy once it's set correctly.

Re: Quadrajet rebuild questions
Guru or not, use the clip. If you don't drive everyday, and the carb sits for extended periods of time (fuel evaporates) the needle can stick and make starting a bit of a chore.
