Windshield leaks
So another issue with the 2000 Silverado has reemerged....the drivers side floorboard and only the drivers floorboard turns into a swimming pool after raining. I thought we had fixed the issue after replacing a bad door seal that didn't meet all the way together on the A-pillar side of the drivers door. Well, I was wrong. It's been raining a lot here in NW Louisiana lately and this morning the floorboard was soaked and the water congregates at the kick pillar base. I see no obvious signs of water running or dripping yet, but wondered if there were some common areas where these trucks leak to check first. I need to find where the water is getting in and seal it up to prevent mold or the occasional saturated carpet and standing water on the bare floor.
Any ideas????? |

Re: Windshield leaks
Make sure the front windshield sealer has not dried out ....especially at the upper corner drivers side....
Also, make sure the door latch roller is intact...ensuring the door is tight against the door frame of the cab...

Re: Windshield leaks
I will check the windshield in many different spots, thanks for the advice! I suspected a cowl leak and noticed a gap in the seal around the bottom where the trim piece covers the wipers and the base of the windshield. I'll post what I find. Any other suspected possibilities?
