Any Literature Hounds out there?
I was just wondering if any or many of the guys on the forum have a library of literature or equivalent for their trucks or for trucks in general.
I've been collecting this kind of stuff myself for years and although its a little spread out around the house its always pretty handy for referencing parts. Some of the literature I've acquired includes the following: -All the service, repair, and factory assembly manuals for my 2 trucks ('66 and the '72)...this is the absolute base amount of info to start with in my books. (pardon the pun) -Multi-page sales brochures and folders (good for the option groups as well as other tech info on the trucks like spring options, tires, etc) -Good ol' Dealer Parts Catalogues....the big thick 4"-5" jobs. These have all the info on GM trucks parts. I have a bunch of these overlapping in year series right back to the 30's. (seems like about 300lbs worth... The old ones are more of a conversation piece than anything immediately helpful for my stuff. As well, I still have my collection of 'pick-ups and panels in print' from the 90's...which really was a great hobby publication. I'm sure a lot of members remember it. ....anywhoooo, thats just scratchin' the surface it seems LOL Anyone else have a good collection on the go? All Good Coley

Re: Any Literature Hounds out there?
I have a pretty tall stack of GM manuals for the various junk I'm interested in as well as some of the better, (Motors for example) manuals for same.
I'll even drop a buck or two on a Haynes manual for something I have. But currently I'm only looking for a later overhaul manual w/ a procedure for a 14 bolt. Why I don't know, since I sold the 14 bolt Book addiction... |

Re: Any Literature Hounds out there?
I've got 15 or so manuals specifically to the 67-72.some interchange manuals,a dozen or so Chevy engine manuals a few pick-up picture books and various welding manuals and others for specific tasks.I also have 30-40 on classic cars, and I also collect tech lit for industrial stuff.A lot on boilers and operation, plant electrical and electronics, and other maintainence guides.I'm an avid reader(2-5 books most weeks) and have a multitude of interests so I also have a bookshelf of Native American lifestyle and traditions, another of various stuff from scifi/fantasy(I read the "Lord of the Rings "Trilogy 4 times before it came out as a movie),mystery, to western lore. I also have a 10X20 storage room in Tx of a mix of all types of books that I have no place for here.I usually buy 10-20 books a year but have a Kindle and read a lot on it since I don't have to store them after I read.

I've got the 1970 Chevrolet truck brochure August 69 and I think January 1970 I honestly don't know the differences in them besides the front cover I have the 1970 Medium Duty brochure full line truck brochure from the elky to the Titan 90 the accessories brochure the 1970 Chassis overhaul manual the assembly manual and I have a February 1970 Communication box set with filmstrips, records, what colors can you get a two tone in how to present new models and used to get em off the lot or a quote from one of the papers (just crease a 50 or 100 along with your card and tell the person at the door that you're here to talk to Mr. Smith about possibly purchasing a truck for his needs) lol I'd love to get more for my 70 sometime

My interchange manual is a "Motorbooks" one bu Paul Herd.I also have a Parts manual for 1946-1972 that is GM.I would love to find a Hollander for these trucks.I also have a SBC interchange manual in two versions. I have a spot in my home office for my Lit and use my Combo copier/printer to make copies to trash in the shop.

Re: Any Literature Hounds out there?
I'm a bit obsessed with getting factory literature for my '67 GMC. I've been looking for the 1967 GMC Truck Overhaul Manual - I've got a CD with a scanned copy, but would like to get the real thing - the '67 Chevy manuals are out there, but I haven't seen a GMC manual yet....

I've got one of those (it's black though) - I'm looking for the one that looks like the 1967 Chevrolet Chassis Overhaul Manual except it's titled "1967 GMC Truck Overhaul Manual"...I'll post a picture of the cover when I get home this evening. |

Re: Any Literature Hounds out there?
Thought I'd revive this thread with some pics of all my 1970 Chevrolet paraphernalia sorry if there's quite a bit of pics I took them with my phone and, I apologize if any of the pics are sideways. Is there any 1970 Chevrolet paraphernalia I am missing? If so what do I still need to get?
