I know this is not related to 67-72 but you guys are so much more knowledgable that the other boards . Does anyone out there know of a quick and easy way to remove the ugly a$$ stock decals. My daily driver is a 1991 Chevy Suburban and I want to take off the stock decals and pinstripping on the side of it but the decals are a pain in the a$$ to get off and when I get them off the adhesive is even harder to get off. Any suggestions ????

I've removed stock decals on several rigs and have had the best luck with a heat gun. If you take your time and go slow and steady, most of the adhesive should come of with the decal. With the remaining adheasive, I used 3M Adhesive remover. It's not a really harsh product so it's not as hard on the paint. You still need to be careful because it will remove paint if you are agressive with it. Hope this helps.................

I used a heat gun but had the most trouble with the residual adhesive, I will give the 3m stuff a try. Thanks

3M makes a rubber wheel that you put in a dril and "erase the decals" it takes some time but works very well and will NOT hurt paint. you can get it at any paint store. good luck.

whip out the ole lady's hair dryer and grab a bottle of lighter fluid for the glue or wd40 they both work really good

The 3M eraser wheel is the best and won't damage the paint. Definatly worth the 10-15$. Can do the whole truck in about 30min, including all the glue from those nasty side moldings.

Thank guys for all the info. I went to the local NAPA store and ordered the 3M rubber wheel and will give it a try.
