1972 k10 cab question
Will a low hump cab work with a 700r4 transmission on my 72 4x4? I know from the factory they had the high hump but I'm not walking to cut the low hump out . My plan is to just put the high hump over the top and just cut what I have to for the shifter and probably use 2 boots. But who knows I might just cut the whole thing out.

It's not hard to replace the low hump with a high hump. There is no need to cut anything. They just bolt in place. Just unbolt the low hump, clean up the surface, and install a high hump. Here is a picture of my K10 4WD with the high hump removed. I have a couple of high humps that I'll probably be selling in the near future. Hope this helps.

It's been a while, but I don't remember cutting the low hump out being a big deal. I think the cut lines are there. I don't think there are any special reinforcements. The factory nuts are welded to the bottom of the floor.

Hey, could someone that has a factory cab with a high hump measure the hole opening and or the bolt holes on the rear of it to the bottom of the raised brace on the floor.

I did this on my 72...3/4 4x4 auto frame and running gear and a 2wd low hump cab.
you can cut the area out and use the high hump plate with self tapping metal bolts and it works fine.

My main problem is the cab is sitting on a roller stand and not on my frame so I can't center up the transfer case shifter with the hole on the high hump. I know side to side is good but the front to back is what I'm worried about.

Your transmission and transfer case will clear your low hump floor with no problems. You only need the high hump on 4 speeds. Plenty of clearance for trans and shifter with the automatic.

Ok, I have measured and have pictures of the cut out. Went out to a friend's house where he had a 4x4 cab sitting. Now to decide to cut the low hump out or just leave it and bolt the high hump ontop.
