Exploded diagram of steering column
Hello folks!
I am going to put my steering column, but I don't remember exactly how all of the pieces go back. Does anyone have any sort of diagram on how the steering column goes back together? I'll need it!! Thanks Brian

This will at least give you an idea of what parts you need. The first picture is the under dash parts, The column support goes in first, the pedal stop plate goes in second and the trim plate goes on last. Second picture is the support parts on the outside of the firewall. Don't pay any attention to the arrow. There are 2 more pieces at the bottom of the column on the inside. One is a rubber boot or gasket and you can see it in the firewall in the second picture, and the other is a metal collar that is football shaped and has two holes in it for the retaining screws. Re: Exploded diagram of steering column
These links should help.
This is for a tilt, but posts 4, 5, 6 and 7 show how the columns are installed using the parts shown in LockDoc's post and apply to both columns. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=133937 Standard column diagram http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...4&postcount=13 Posts 6 and 7 should help if you have a tilt. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=329008 Last edited by FirstOwner69; 03-18-2019 at 11:44 PM. |
