The column shifter lever is all floppy on my 82 making it were it's getting unsafe to be sure it's in park
Is it spring loaded or ???
Anyone done a fix for this ????

There's a bunch of numbers there but it doesn't tell me what they are !!!!

Sorry forgot this. It does not list the actual parts numbers and I don't have that catalog to cross reference.

Normally from what you are describing, the spring or bushing (#6, 7, & 8) in view B are what is messed up or missing. You might find the bushings ( Genuine GM 1377083 Control Linkage Insulator/Bushing) on e-bay, but a lot of folks ask way too much for them since they are no longer produced.

I just found a spring in the hardware store and used it to replace mine.

It is not listed in the break down above but there is a small spring under the (20) shifter lever end in the steering column bowl. that will often break causing the shifter to not spring back towards the dash.
once you drive the pin (18) out and remove the lever, you should be able to dig it out with a small pick. make sure you get all the pieces out or the new spring will not fit.

I would begin by checking numbers 3, 4, 13, 14, 15, and 17 from the illustration to see if those areas are tight. Bushings in those areas could be worn out or missing causing the feeling you're describing.
