Let's play the game "Spend someone else's $$$"
As the title says help me decide what to get for the Tootsie Roll next. Luckily I've been able to get some extra $$$ freed up coming on this next week's paycheck and it's time to spend money on the "girl" that been there for me. I jokingly told my ex one time that the truck was there before her and will be there after her. Funny how life comes true sometimes, LOL!!
I've narrowed it down to a few items and groups. Here's how it breaks down. 1. Pro-Comp Gauges (I have already the tach and speedo) with shift light. 2. New Edelbrock mechanical Fuel pump and MSD 8.5 plug wires 3. B&M Mega truck shifter 4. Aerochamber Mufflers w/install 5.Polyurethane suspension rebuild kit (whole truck) Let me know what you think I should do.

My vote is on #5...
Though i could be biased since my '79 is really needing it. Shame there isn't 30 more hours in a day.

I'm not trying to turn you away from them, but I have heard mixed opinions about the polyurethane bushings. Some have said that they are rougher than the stock rubber bushings, others say they ride better.
If I had to choose though, I would finish the gauges. ![]()

polyeurethane? i've got a complete set for a 73-80 C10
![]() seriously, with the list of mods you have, that would be my first move. the other stuff is nice, but what good is power if you cant put it to the ground? yes, poly bushings will be "rougher" than rubber bushings, but it will be SOOO much more responsive, and they will last longer than rubber. |

Well I was talking to my cousin tonight and he brought up another option- Tint my windows. I was like huh never thought about doing that now but I could use it for sure. I might do that along with an option like ya'll have mentioned. I'm honestly leaning toward the suspension kit.
Jeremy- If they were black and not red I would have jumped on them. The black kit has polygraphite and red doesn't.

I'd go with #1. You need to keep a good accurate eye on that engine.

I need to do all of those things...*sigh* lol I need to get my windows retinted...i got the lovely 1978 crappy purple tint stuff on the truck now...been trying to figure how to get it off or if i should just let the shop that's gonna redo my tint deal with it..lol

Tell you what. Go for #5, send 'em to me, and I'll tell ya how they are! Then you'll know in your heart of hearts, that you helped a fellow 73-87 owner and have no choice but to be happy. :p

Id choose between the poly bushings, (which make a huge diference, an if properly installed, an lubed, WONT squeak) and puttin in new gauges, because if you caint monitor the power, an it goes south.....you have a truck with new bushings an no motivation....

I doubt that the stock gauges are that bad. Yeah they will be better with the autometer gauges but dont think the engine will die stock gauges. I think the gauges could hold off long enough to get the suspension and bushings setup properly.

Well the gauges I have are not stock. They're the el cheap from any parts store. The reason I wanted to get them was because I already have the speedo and tach. Like mentioned I want to make sure everything goes well with the engine and make sure of everything working smoothly.
If I go with the front end kit the I need to add tie rod ends, etc along with new front springs. Plus I really don't have the time right now to do it all since i don't get the weekend off and my days off are seperate usually. Along with that and no 2nd truck to drive to and from work I'm kinda stuck between a hard place for that. If I went with the aerochambers I can resell the flows for some $$$. If I go with the fuel pump and plugs the truck would run better than now. I know I need a new fuel pump but may just grab a O'Rilley's new one for now to get my by. The Megashifter is just a "want" and not really a need. I just wanted to have it but that can come later ![]() Any more opinions?

I'd go for #5 myself Brandon. You've already got the power, the new bushings will just help you get it to the ground better plus it ain't gonna hurt your handling either.
