Street/Race question
I want better weight transfer in my 72 c10. It already dropped on spindles and maybe springs. I think its probly a 5-4 or 6-5 drop. Not raked actually so im not sure what the drop is. Anyways id like to jam with this truck. what suspension parts do you suggest?? I was told big block springs but id probly have to cut them to get them as low as the ones in there. It has leafs in the back... lemme know guys.

Couple things, Disconnect sway bar because they have a tendency to hold the front end down, You want the frame to be fairly level, if the front is to low it wont transfer the power, maybe even have the front raised a little more than rear. Shocks lower rate of shock in the front to allow the front to lift and stiffer in the rear.

Thanks for the reply. First off, i know nothing of suspension. So your saying just take the sway bar completely off? How will this effect normal driving? Also should i take a leaf out of the back or what? What shocks do you suggest for the front and back? what ratio??

You don't need to take the bar off, just unhook it to where it connected to the a arms and get it out of the way. When your done racing you can hook them backup. You want to keep the rear stiff to stop the flex, thats why a lot of guys will run traction bars. Do you have a posi in the truck? This makes both wheels turn instead of one helps a lot. There are many shocks out there, a good place to go is a good reputable autoparts place and tell them they should be able to lookup what you need> I would believe the term for this would be 60/40. I used to use a heavy duty set of Gabriels Adjustables and work from there.

Having a posi helps dramatically, turning both wheels instead of one. check this sight out on shock information..
