Re: 71 Cheyenne build
Looks like a solid truck to start with. I have a 72 Cheyenne I bought about a year and half ago. I found a low mileage 4.8 LS with 4l60e donor truck. I just got it driveable. It is a lot of fun

Re: 71 Cheyenne build
Looks like a solid truck at a great price. Nearly identical to what I started with on the current project. Are you thinking about doing a build thread?
Edit* clearly I wasn’t paying attention when I posted this, this IS your build thread... sorry.

Ok so today I got to looking at the rust on top of the cab and I am wondering what’s the best way to fix the rust in the drip rails?

Re: 71 Cheyenne build
I spent the rest of the day rust hunting and found more.the passenger side drip rail is worse the the drivers side there is a hole in the side of the cab.the drivers side bed has a few rust rust holes pass side is good under the truck the floor pans are solid but it will need cab corners rockers and cab support the bed floor and frame are both solid.the fire wall fenders hood and core support are all good.

Re: 71 Cheyenne build
Another thing to check is the cowl area, look under dash toward the front up high at the base of the dash, always a bad spot from leaves and crap sitting under the cowl,and/or remove cowl and run the hose all through there, you will be surprised how much stuff will fall out of there behind the fender,
