Can't find 'em

Well, what started as just a cab rust touch-up has evolved, to a complete bed removal, fenders, wheel wells, well let's just say it's almost frame off! So the budget has been severely depleted. One of the original rams horns has cracked. I was hoping to get her breathing easier by gong to corvette rams horns, but they all dump straight down. As mine are original, they are angled and at best going with straight dumps will require exhaust work/modification and the exhaust is new(er). All I can find after searching ad infinitum is a set of raw 2" horns. Castheads will do a set for$700 plus shipping. Can't go there now.

So anyone found any freer breathing rams horns with angled dumps? As this truck was all original before the painting started, I'd like to stay close as possible to OEM looks.

Thanks folks

Jack

Do whatever it takes to become a paying member here. Then you can advertise a "ant to buy" ad here.
There are tons of used good ones. Check woth OReillys, Napa, LMC, Brothers, Cooper Restorations. I believe Dorman makes them, OReillys sells Dorman...

Post Ram Horn Exhausts

NAPA sells them but finding a NAPA store with counter guys who know what a Paper catalog is, can be frustrating .

Re: Can't find 'em

I ended up picking up a used correct one off of fleabay. Had to media blast it, have it tired and the old studs drilled out at the local NAPA machine shop, but I no have a correct part number one to replace my cracked LH manifold.

Re: Can't find 'em

Thanks everybody. I looked so long, I got target fixation and flew right into the ground!! I was hoping to find freer breathing rams horns with angled dumps. When I couldn't find them I totally forgot to go back to Speedway, et al and wound up buying a set off eBay with the 2" collectors. If I'd remembered Speedway, et al, I would have used them just to get the complete kit. So after buying these on eBay, I had to go find gaskets and bolts.... Oh well. Once I get through the pains and unplanned costs of this repaint,...I'll most likely get stoopid again and get some freer flowing 2 1/2" rams horns and new exhaust. What else am I gonna spend my $$ on?

Thanks again guys

Jack

You can make your stock 2 inch ramhorns flow better. Likely even better than 2 1/2’s.

Re: Can't find 'em

Quite expensive now.
Used to be fairly cheap years ago.
Around 300 bucks for a pair of manifolds.
I was thinking old prices when I posted the link.
Apologies if I steered you wrong!
Get your heart pills ready!
I’ve seen prices for a pair at 12-1500.
It used to be a way for nostalgia stock racers to have an exhaust that looked stock (as per the rules) but with headers flow.

That is indeed some neat stuff! No heart pills needed here. I figgered things to be in that price range! When I get real stoopid and want better breathing for our truck,... I'll bite the bullet and do these. Although Brezinsky racing has rams horns, (corvette 2 1/2"), that they CNC, grind and polish. Even those aren't cheap. Just shy of $800. Only problem with those is that they're straight dumps which means a reworking of the exhaust.

But, this is what we do for the love of these trucks. I gotta keep deciding truck or eat. I'm losing a LOT of weight!
