Re: EZ wiring kits
Seems like a good deal with marked wire and all.
I have this in one of mine and it isn't bad for the money. https://www.johnnylawmotors.com/cata...harness-system |

Re: EZ wiring kits
I had a Ez-Wiring kit for one of my trucks and tried the American Autowire kit on the next one and hands down I would go with the American Auto Wire kit #510089. Here is a link. I am not good at electrical so that is one reason for going with American Autowire and the other reason is it is a much more complete kit.

Re: EZ wiring kits
For me it was because the American Autowire kit replaces everything like the following:
This is just a few of the items that are completely replaced instead of wiring into old fixtures ans connectors. I wanted everything to be new going forward on this truck electrically that I am keeping. Is it worth the additional cost, it was for me. Others may just go the other route that depends on your budget and what you are doing with the truck. For me it was because it will be a daily driver that I will be keeping.

Re: EZ wiring kits
did one with ezwire and will go with aaw or ron francis next project. customer support was like have to wait till the next day and kit was less expensive but took lot longer to sort out loose end crimps and generic switch hook up, but it's what your looking for and get a firm quote from whoever is doing the wire job.

Re: EZ wiring kits
I have used several e z wire kits without any difficulty. HOWEVER, I bought their 21 circuit (21 I believe) kit for my c10. I didn't like the way this particular fuse block mounted--but I dealt with it and used it. The wireing went as usual, without difficulty. But when I applied power and started testing the electrical system, very few items worked correctly. After many hours of checking and suspecting faulty workmanship on my part I finally discovered that the actual new fuse block was internally jumpered wrong.
With switch on--some things worked, some didn't . with switch off some of the wrong things were constantly powered. Took a lot of time to figure out and some serious thinking/checking to correct. Bottom line----they are inexpensive and somewhat easy to install, But Ill never buy one again.

Re: EZ wiring kits
I have one other that you might want to try.Its a little more expressive. But you can put it in 1-2 days for the guys that know how to wire there trucks with a factory re pop Harness from M&H harnesses.
Its a plug and play system It com,es with all the connects for the wiper switch light switch key switch plugs. No soldering at all No wire crimps. All the wires have all the ends all the right length of wire raped in wire take.I do all my trucks this way.Never a short. Yes you will spend 850-1200 that with all the other parts your going to have to buy Like the new key switch new light switch Neutral safety switch But every time i look at one of them trucks that the guy went cheap on I walk away.Been in 3 trucks that lite up and caught fire. Not fun at doing 70 down the freeway and the cab fills with smoke. Do it the right way an never have problems Thew re pop harnesses have no equal Plus for the guys that know how to wire the truck it can be done in 1 day. This is the engine harness and its new i installed in my 1971-72. Here is a bit of news i found out if you go to the last year like 1972 you get all the up grades that the 1969-71 did not have.Bigger ticker wire as fixes that GM found later Plus if your a fan of the side maker that blinks when your grill or bumper blinks is my favorite trying to find the guy that can do it to my rears side running light. Here is the pic the the engine harness what you see is what you get from M&H harness www.car&truck.com |
