Silly question of the day....Side-marker mounting

Kind of a silly question, but I'm curious. Is there a correct "direction" to mount the side marker lenses on my '70? One end of the lens has the reflector and the other end has the actual light. Does it matter if the reflector or the light faces the forward end of the vehicle?

Here are the lenses I'm talking about:

I'm replacing all four lenses as mine are original and weather baked. Figured they might as well be mounted in the correct direction.
