Central Axle Disconnect ???
So bear with me, I'm pretty much 30 years behind when it comes to pickups.
Do the new GM 4wd pickups come with some sort of remote control disconnect in the front axle as in the GMT400, or have they done away with that nonsense and just let the differential and front driveshaft turn all the time even in 2wd?

Re: Central Axle Disconnect ???
There is still an actuator, similar in design with all gm ifs 4wd.
I am not sure about the 2019 model year and newer. I haven’t had any of those in the shop yet. |

Re: Central Axle Disconnect ???
I "fixed" my old pickup so that the two front axles are locked together with the differential, so there's no more replacing the darn thing and then wondering if it's going to work.
I was just wondering if the new GM pickups still had this weak link, because I know that Jeep used to have a disconnect on the solid front axles but did away with it years ago even though there are no lock out hubs.
