Well I'd say they are as follows...
For ease of installation= hole directly in the bed floor, and directly over the filler hole in the tank. Top filler tank required. For ease of filling with fuel= side of the bed, like 99% of all newer cars. Side fuel filler tank required. Brian

Our old blue has a blazer filler.
Fills perfectly, needs a hole in the bed side.
